Fruit based baits

Anybody ever tried, making a pawpaw based bait

Tried persimmon once. Was VERY DISSAPPOINTED.

Attachment DeletedPersimmons are tough to work with I made a few attempts with them not a total flop but still room for major improvements! they call deer In a phenominal way! but they get foxes as well if they beat the deer to the set! I made one batch mixed 50/50 with grasshoppers trying to detour the deer no such luck! grasshoppers when they taint with sweet materials take on a floral smell! I can say it did a bang up job on skunks though. and grinners! but honestly I think you could catch grinners with cigarette butts!Istiill tinker with persimmons every year just because I know the value they represent. This is my annual fallgathering of persimmons now these are two gallon bags

Actually those two bags went to crow in La!  PAW paws I believe will be tough to stabilize unless you pick them before they are done then ferment and stabilize But it should make a decent coon / fox bait I bet it would slam some greys they eat the crapout of sweets  but don't discount it as a yote attractant either. I have a area the wild plums draw yotes like no tommmorrow.FYI don't waste your time collecting yote scat with seeds in it by the time you get a chance to use it their wont be anything left but seeds.

I got a bottle of persimmon extract and it smell divine. I have watched fox reach up and eat persimmons. I would call it a curiosity lure.

Paw paws are to good to waste on coons and grinners

I would rather eat the paw paws and catch the coons and grinners on dog food.
