There is a canned fish from Sweden called Surstromming. It is supposed to be the nastiest smell on the planet. It is not recommended to open the can indoors. A can costs $40 but I think a spoonful mixed as a lure would be dynamite. Even create a predator lure. There are youtube videos of people puking trying to open the can.

I know if you break a jar of shad in your trunk of the car then you might as well just set it on fire and call your insurance man.

It is high price but I think a can would last forever. If used as a lure ingredient then it would be the same price as other lure ingredients.
