50 cents will buy any possum on the planet until Trump decides to buy his wife a cute possum skirt! Then, they will bring .55!

No market for any furs right now. But, if we don't trap and care about habitats, the critters are gonna be gone forever! Do what you think is best, folks!

A few years ago the local guy offered $1 for every possum; after about 6 or 8 little black ones he took back the offer, so I gave the three big white ones to a guy shipping to NAFA and each brought 6 bucks.

I'll give $2 each for little ones, especially black ones as long as they are unskinned and not damaged. I have a buddy in OH who loves my whole possums. Skinned possums are worth $1 if they are silver and large. No more. Mine averaged 1.37 at nafa and yes, i did get 6 for a few but the .25 possums have a way of killing a great average. This season all my finished possums are going to be tanned.

The little ones have to be tiny!

Back in the 70s, I could bale my dried fur in paper and tie it real tight and mail it to St.louis for less than $2. A guy named Prouhet always gave me more than I expected. I saved those receipts and, if I ever find them, will post them.

I am two hours south of Steelville. Look at the list of furbuyers. They are probably a few a little closer. My closest buyer is an hour and a half away and latest is he will not be buying any coons this season. But, rumors are pretty easy to spread.

No one south of me and into AR buys fur for two or three hours south. I get tons of that fancy AR prime stuff! They are already trapping down there. One buyer called me the other day and said he is paying $2 for XXX and $1 for XX and nothing for X and smaller. He will get all he wants, I am sure.

If anyone hears anything fairly valid about the markets, please share. It's sorta hard to get excited as a buyer when thousands of 2013-14 coons are still on the shelves in Canada.

I will buy lots and lots but only if I know I can make .25 - $1 on it.

I think I will start a prices thread.
