You didn't get your VIP Press Packet, with all the Free Meal Coupons, and the Key to the City of Fortuna? Not to mention your complimentary bottle of GUSTO? Seriously?

rent pikes submarine.. he changed the oil and checked the tire pressure Yepper, the sub is ready. Oil changed, tires rotated and new wiper blades installed. It does have a right turn signal out so be careful down there Dale, insurance on this thing is a killer.

Unless they change the forecast, or miss it drastically, I'd say we're gonna have a short weekend.
Jim and I set the property with a few traps today- I would hope we can get through until Sunday morning. It's tough to set the creek, KNOWING it's gonna flood. Sigh.

Had a good time. Never stayed outside long enough to get soaked. Lots of good information and trading. The community center made a good base camp.(warm and dry) Hope Jim got the blood washed out of those 4 coyote hides. Tenman made boat oar chili.

Fourteen folks total, but we called it in the top of the third inning... Some wars just cannot be won.

I proved to several folks that the shorter earth anchors work and hold well. Just ask 'em.

And i have proved to myself that 18" of earth anchor aint enough in this muddy ground The 15" cable stakes I made pulled easily. Some of them I didn't even have to hammer much to sink them.

Even our "black dirt" has a lot of clay in it. I got questioning comments on my 8" cables. Then I proceeded to bend two of them in half when I pulled them out today, set in a dirt field. A really WET dirt field.
