I plan on putting up as much of my own fur as i can. What is the best route to go? NAFA? FHA? MTA?

Maybe the better question would be: what has your experience been?

This past season I did much better with local fur buyers than what was paid out through the auction houses. It's a gamble no matter what you choose.

The thing about shipping that I've come to the conclusion of is, when they grade your fur up there they don't know where it came from. For me in Southern MO it could mean a big difference in payout. I have yet to ship but FHA is where all my fur will go except what I will tan.

It don't matter to them where it came from. The density and color wins a grade. They do know that the heavies are mostly from up north and the lights are from down south. They also know that is a guideline and not a hard fast rule. You can get a grade as a western coyote and live in Virginia.

MO coon not according to color and density.
