I would recommend that all members attend this meeting. There's some issues that need your attention and your vote. Things like a "CAGE TRAP PROPOSAL"

Introduce a cage only trapping season in Missouri, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! I wonder if the states that have lost their right to trap had their state trapper associations lead the anti's down the path on how to do it?

Mike, according to my resources (Robbie Page) the MTA did not propose this. A sole member of the MTA brought this to the rules and regs and made this proposal. We are now going to vote on it as members at the spring meeting. We need as many members as possible at the meeting to end this.

That's good news I guess? So any member can make change proposals requiring a vote of the members or just the politically connected?

I do believe any member can suggest a proposal to the rules and regs chairman. the membership will then have to vote

Personally I think cage traps are not as humane as presented, animals beat themselves up in them look at the bobcats faces and coons front legs.....

Agreed Cletis. Not to mention that if we are willing to use them then, what's to keep those that want to get rid of footholds from trying to make them the norm? This is why there is always a discussion period before a proposal is voted on. To look at the ramifications of said proposal.

Sounds like a great way for anti's to eventually push us into a cage-only season.
I also don't see the realism in the average trapper being able to afford any number of REAL bobcat cages. They will be pricey.

Also why do we need a separate special season, the present season for the most part is established when the fur is prime and most valuable. As far as anti's ..... some townships have a no trapping regs that even forbade adc control

I agree with Ozark. If we let them think we're willing to use only cages then they'll find a way to make us only use cages. I won't be able to make the meeting but you can put me down as a NO.

Not the way it works jml. A vote will be taken by a show of hands, then recorded. Guys we have to have at least 40 people show up to make a quarium or the actions taken at the meeting will have to wait to be voted on at the fall meeting.

Is the single member of the MTA who brought this up going to be there?

Is the single member of the MTA who brought this up going to be there? Not a requirement but you'd think they'd want to support their own proposal.

If I was him then I would want to remain anonymous. This whole thing has a stink about it. One guy (who claims to be MTA) proposes a law and we have to scramble to vote on it (through the MTA even though the MTA did not propose it) But the guy is in the MTA and my question is "If the MTA had nothing to do with it then why is the fact the guy was MTA relevant to the matter at hand???" Furthermore, if such is the way of things, then I will start the process of suggesting a law that all trappers must wear pink chiffon dresses and pearl earrings and let everybody rush in to vote it down. (or not......some may like that)

There's been many a meeting where we didn't have a quorum. I wonder how many chairs I need to set up.
