Just seen it on the news. Allow crossbows for archery season, shorten regular firearm season to 9 days. Shorten doe season to 3 days.

They made a joke out of blackpowder season so why not allow crossbows for archery?
Some of the new laws suggest a "kill them all" attitude and some suggest they are an endangered specie.
I suggest they go back to the old regs which allowed deer hunters a lot of priviledges and didn't anilate the herd.
What really hurt the State was when the MDOC allowed "all the does you want" for years and years at $7 a whack. They are realizing that now.

Joe- Its always been one buck per year. One archery, one gun. No, you're wrong! Archery has been one buck before the November firearms season and one after. If you didn't kill one in the early season, you were allowed two bucks in the late season. |

Yup and we used to have blackpowder park hunts. The antis protested some. The city of St Louis paid a contracter to net and tag and relocate some deer. It cost like $1000 per deer. Everyone of them died after wards. Wild animals are traumatized by the process.

Especially the major urban areas. town and country is in the news 2-3x a year about over populated deer. its a joke. hunt em down and killem.... simple... damn tree huggers..... no need for snipers, sharpshooters, or contraceptives.. waste of $$$$$$...... there so pretty, cute, and graceful until bambi is your hood ornament....... |

While driving to and from jobs over the years I hit 7 deer and had many many near hits, so I'm not real fond of them being overpopulated.
