I'm still dragging my feet and the serious bobcat trappers are finally tuning their traps. I guess two weeks is enough! I have bought a boat load just like last year. They are bringing this year what I should have paid last year! That way my young lady wouldn't be pissed at me! haha
Some trappers are not catching any or very few but my ole reliables are slaying them! one trapper called and has 38 and expects over 60 since he is just getting serious! I, of course, always lure them into sharing their trapping tips! Love it!
Probably buy 300-500 this year just like the last few years. Lots of kitty cats roaming the ozarks!
Hope your gals and guys are having fun outwitting the critters! Im finally gonna set a few serious traps tomorrow and enjoy the fun! Just hard to get in the mood when its so warm! We need a little cold weather!
I guess I need to move north where the weather is more fun in winter!

I only got to trap for a week...only two traps out, and got a cat. I was happy. Had a trapper in from Indiana and he got 2 cats on his 4th day. He was very happy...no season on cats there.

No idea! I lost my ass last year on the 500 I bought so I figure they ain't worth as much! I sold all my finished cats to a AR buyer the other day who was passing through to sell to a crook in OK. He gave me 50 each. I prob lost a little but way better deal than the nafa thing with cites charges and commission and all the other stuff!
I have bought about 100 whole cats for what I know I can pay and make a buck with a taxidermist. Paid 100 for a few! But, got the 110 waiting. sure beats skinning, scraping stretchin, drying , shipping and getting 90 average. Oops! Forgot about the commission. If I was a trapper, I'd either sell to the local yokal buyer or finish and sell to nafa. Being a dealer is a whole diff ball of waX If is wasn't so much fun, I'd quit! But, too much fun!! Met a 87 year young trapper today from AR and bought a truck load of unskinned beavers, otters, coons, and cats! he is a hoot.
Time to trap cats! wish the season for cats lasted from Christmas day til Feb. 15th. Then I would not have all the crap cats. And, MEN who shoot cats out of the oct and november deer stands with their bows and rifles need to be neuters if they haven't been already. Guess they will do anyting for $5! haha
