I put in 7 sets on a couple of sections north of town yesterday... Ground is frozen down about 3" so driving pogos and digging beds and dirtholes was labor intensive... I am not in trapping shape like usual this time of year... Had a double this morning taken on Cletis' Apple Road....

Wish we only had 3" of frozen ground.
Predators are hungry now and really moving.

We're frozen an inch or so in the timber. I don't know what the open terrain is like. I set my first traps yesterday, all exposed 'cat sets. And still, poundin' out a bed with a sledgehammer made we want my Mommy.

i took the axe with me tonight... chopped out 7 more sets... LOL this eastern trapping sure is a lot more work that out west... LOL

ok ok ok.... this "less western" trapping... I stand corrected.... we are still west of the big ditch... HAHA
its funny how regional tags are different to different people... when I moved to Greensburg, Kansas (110 mi. west of Wichita, ks) I referred to it as "western Ks" till the ole timers corrected me and let me know that it was actually "southcentral ks" LOL
Dodge City was 50 miles west so the line between west/southcentral had to fall somewhere in between those two towns.... HA

Now, I know better. Mom's family were all over Henry and Benton counties. Her grandpa helped Sherman burn Georgia and all her cousins were all good Yankees. If you aint in yankee country you're dang close.
