www.wsiltv.com/news/local/Illinois-Legislature-Approves-Bobcat-Hunting-284784291.htmlBy Associated Press Story Created: Dec 4, 2014 at 1:29 PM CST Story Updated: Dec 4, 2014 at 1:29 PM CST SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Illinois lawmakers have approved legislation allowing bobcat hunting for the first time in more than 40 years. The Illinois Senate approved the measure by a 30-19 vote Thursday. The House had passed the bill 91-20 in March. Illinois banned hunting of the nocturnal animal in 1972. Bobcats were on the threatened species list from 1977 to 1999. Republican state Rep. Wayne Rosenthal of Morrisonville is the bill's sponsor. He says the bobcat population is growing in rural areas of western and southern Illinois. Opponents, including Democratic state Sen. Linda Holmes, say it's "trophy hunting" and shouldn't be allowed. The hunting and trapping season would occur sometime between Nov. 1 and Feb. 15. A hunter would be allowed to kill one bobcat per year. ___ The bill is HB4226.

I'd like to trophy hunt some democrats yea! You just want Hilary's head!! You want her and you know it. If she decides to run, you'll def have her for four or eight years which will be her call! If she doesn't, not sure who will run on either party! I'm guessing another Bush on the repub side and an unknown on the demass side! Great to live in such a great country! Just be sure to campaign, walk the beat, and vote! Haha!!

Still has to b signed by the governor. I live very close to IL and actually trap a little there. I have friends that live and trap there and the cat population in there area is way higher than their DNR even knows. Cats are caught on a regular basis. A lot of the land is leased up by outfitters and many of them tell their hunters to shoot all bobcats and coyotes they want, of course all are left where there shot.
