This may well be the shortest coon catch we have seen since the late 80s!
Last year I skinned 96 head the second night of season. This year I skinned 1.

I haven't even set a trap here yet. Everything freezing hard. I may set a few DP's later in the week but I'm sure not going to put up any numbers this season. Party because I don't want to and partly because of the weather and my work schedule.

whats it gonna do to prices??? hmmmmmmm If this weather keeps up very long, I can see advances in prices. What would be even better is if we could bottle all this weather up and send it to China. LOL!!

Stuff happens. Too warm. Too cold. Droughts and disease. I do think out numbers have rebounded some however. Coming home from huntin' last night we saw several 'coon along the way. I thought they'd be laid up. It was freakin' COLD. Oh well.

If prices advance many of us have plenty of coon in cold storage for sale!

I don't think it'll improve the prices much this year, but it might help clear out some of the supplies still being held. Many areas hit hard the last couple of years will be able to rebound some. I imagine most of my coons will come when I start after predators, better coon anyway.
