I will have my eyes open for a new deer rifle in the coming year. I'm going to retire my grandpa's rifle because I can't find an extractor for it. I'd like to find a 30-06 with laminated wood stock and blued metal. Anyone have ideas of makers I should be looking for?

It's a Remington model 721. Great old gun. Just have to manually knock the spent rounds out.

I would start hunting me a good gunsmith. A good one will make you an extractor for it.

if going to replace it I would go with a sako extraction conversion kit and have it installed, a more reliable extractor overall and will last you a very long time.
