I trap a lot up north mo and I was kinda getting excited about coon trappin in the creeks. There full of water this year, last year they were dry. IF it gets cold and freezes though before season I guess it doesn't much matter. Although the coyotes love to run on the frozen creeks it's hard bedding on ice and trying to blend in a trap. I tried using C R's last year but when I'd narrow down a spot they'd stop using it. No matter I'm excited.

Kinda weird how the NE part of the state is usually colder than the NW. I guess it's mainly the wind flow from the west having a different effect.

Looking forward to it, the Duck opener really sucked big time! That will shove them down a bit. Any crops still in the fields north of the Missouri River?

I'm still in ND killing coyotes. Snow geese started showing up by ghe thousands today. Farmer told me they are calling for a high of 20 degrees Monday.
Couple of days ago had a 14 degree low right after .2 of an inch of rain. Probably missed half a dozen coyotes because of sets being crusted over. Still drug in 12 head that day though.

Corn left in some beans. Reason the weathers so messed up is all the bombs that have been set of on the other side of the world got the earth backed up and tilted a little

2014 has been an exceptional year as far as mild temperatures and sustaining rainfall and late frost. As far as what is going to happen, it is foolish to predict the weather two weeks from now. Weathermen do that stuff and choke all the time.

Today is the 6th. Only 9 days out. Forecast shows more than enough cold weather to severely hurt our coon harvest in the northern end of the state.

Just got back from a little water trapping in MN.Broke ice with the boat most of the day Saturday--everything but lakes and creeks was all ice. Had 6 sets that weren't frozen solid on sunday--whopping 1 beaver and 3 rats. Did get a couple days with open water, but pulled yesterday in the snow.Putting up some rats today and filling customers orders. I hate hard water. Tom

Well, we're bound to have to pay for what we've experienced thus far this fall. All bills come due.

Mother nature says it is going to be pretty severe. The sky was crowded with snow geese and ducks being pushed south! Not the normal steady flow of birds, lots of them.
