Hey guys, trying to get lined out on the season... needing advice on the sale of whole furbearers in Mo. for taxidermy market and such.. thanks for any guidance I can get km

Kirk,it's legal to sale on the taxi market as long as both parties have their licenses.
Most prefer to skin them themselves,which is a good thing if you have the freeze space to hold them. Lots of bobcats show up at the MTAs auction whole,where furbuyers and taxidermist both bid on them.
You can also have furs tanned and sale that way too.If you tan them yourself,you have to buy a tanners permit and keep records.

Slight correction John. Tanning and Taxidermy permit is one in the same. You only need it if you are doing other people's work. If you are mounting or tanning your own animals, you don't need a permit.

You do if you sale the end product ,Kim. I had that arguement with the MDC already.Even if I tanned and hooped my own beaver,I need the permit to sale them.

Guess that's one of those unclear things in the regs. My understanding is that if you don't charge a fee for doing work and/or doing your own personal work, you do not need a license.

code book says you can sell ur own on a hunting/trapping permit.

I sell to Kurtis massa some times. He sells the meat so he gives a little more for whole then most
