So I purchased myself some of the MB 550 offset traps for coyotes this year. Are they good to go just dyed and waxed or do you like longer chains, more swivels, shock springs etc? I have been told both that they are ready to go or to add chain and shock springs.

I'd add a mid chain swivel.
Just my opinion, three swivels are a must on predator traps.
As for chain length and shock springs it's all just what you prefer to use.
