I found some Montgomery #2 dogless in a pile of traps my grandpa had. Anyone know tricks to get em to work smooth. Takes a lot of pressure to get em to fire

Well I took a stick and push on the pan a few times then it goes off. Guess I should buy one of those testers

Try a two-pound, wooden-handled hammer. You do NOT want to dry-fire these.
