I have 2 double jaw #11's and wonder if anyone can tell me why the off jaw sticks up so far. plus, why do the springs not want to stay when I fold them to the body when the trap is set

The double jaw is a feature to keep coons from working their foot. As far as the springs not staying ,put a little upward pressure on them when you turn them towards the dog.You are trying to turn them towards the dog aren't you?

Are they Dules? I had some doing the same thing. I had to take a file and rough up the area around the eye a little for friction so theyd stay. Before doing that i had to wedge rock, sand etc on te sides to hold the springs out so the jaws would be level. excellent coon and mink trap. Caught alot of 'rats, skunks and possums too. No.11's plain jaw are an awesome fox trap too but after alot of trial and error i cant make a yote trap out of'em.

If the springs aren't bent, the jaw sticks up. If I try to move the springs toward the dog, then they move back to the position of when I set the trap

They keep sliding back to parallel right? Straight out to the sides? Dukes are notorious for that, few samples from other brands too.
