I have had too many pullouts on 155s. Also, the coons that didn't pull out were still alive when I did my check. Does any one have any thoughts on replacing the springs with 160 or 220 springs for better chances of a quick dispatch?

I think both of the springs on a 155 are 160 springs. every coon I've caught in a 155 has been dead right there.

I don't like anything smaller then a 160 now for coons. We bought a few 160's and tested them against 220's. that year we ran a road line that was near 200 miles round trip. Buddy bought a few 155's and i traded for'em because he disliked them. I hated them although they did take fur. I believe in going with th smallest trap you can ethically use but i think they just dont have quite enough jaw spread for bigger coons. I think they slap alot of coons i front of the jaw bend so they dont get a good death grip. If legal for you id just stick with a 160. Not much difference but i do think its enough to cause a guy problems. By the way, we like tge 160's so much we're replacing most of our 220's with'em as we lose 220's thru attrition or gain more ground. Those 155's are little killers on bottom edge type rat n mink sets.
