Any honest averages? Not interested in top prices paid.

got a text from somebody today that said he got $23+ average on holdover coons... That sounds fairly positive. Hldovers are usually the better pelts that were not sold last spring. 23 average sounds good. Sometimes, sellers tend to talk about their top price and neglect to mention the average. I did well on a few coons at nafa last year but averaged 15.25 on several thousand pelts. Deduct the commission and cost of hiring to have the coons put up and it was a dismal sale for me. Same with beavers, yotes, mink. But, all my furs do not look as nice you trapper fur. I get a lot of dog chewd shot up stuff. The fha results will be out sometime today. hope most of the furs sold. Thanks

I haven't bought very many yotes in my life that would have sold at the sale! Keep trapping. Wish I could just plain quit buying but the locals gotta feed their grandkids cause their mamma and pappa left as soon as they were born!! Tough place to live but lots of fun!! Hope to catch a grey tomorrow. Only land critter I have not caught this year. I suspect they are not in this area due to the huge yote population!! Thanks for the post, turkeyman!

Look at the prices paid for coon, mink and otter. FHA should never have sold this stuff.
Rat prices aren't good either.
Then deduct 11% from those prices for commision and subtract $2 for each CITES article and the tumbling fees om coyotes and fox.

The other issue is clearances....when they can not sell what is offered at these prices, it isn't good.

Wasn't this a select sale? I'm thinking they were really just testing the market with the next auctions being in Feb and I believe that will really tell us what the market will be.Just my 2 cents worth.
