What is he going rate to have an animal skinned and the hide tanned? I have a grey fox that I would love to mount but don't have the money so I want to look into just having the hide tanned and softened. Brandon

Please good Lord do not use usa Fox. Those guys are notorious for screwing things up and then saying not our problem. Be that as it may moyle is great. never heard a cross word about them and I've never had an issue with them. www.moytown.com/services-fur.htmlmost taxis are going to ship your house to one of these places or the other. Why not just use them on your own and cut out the middle man? Steve

Tanning Unlimited in Hermitage does a great job and the prices are very reasonable.

You should skin for taxidermy and tanned, that way if you can afford to have it mounted at a later date, it will be good to go. That means skinning, including the feet, fleshing, and turning the face (ears, eyes, lips, nose). I know the one in Hermitage will do all that for you, but they charge extra (as would any tannery).

I use Moyles, never had an issue. If you skin that fox all the hard work is done, not much to scrape on them. Push what little fat left from skinning off and it is ready to board. If you don't want to put it up, you can skin it and they will scrape it for a little more. make sure you freeze it and over night it to them.
