They sell an attachment that affixes to the end of a broomstick (or pvc) where you can slip a 220 on it. It's what I've been using this season and is working great.

How I do it, try and shoot straight down in the center of the head, not between the eyes. Soon as I shoot I grab him up by a back leg, roll him over and pull tight against the trap and chain till he drains out. Usually about a minute. Then all you have to clean up is the face.

Might have to do the nasty in a public area that frowns on discharging firearms.
