Yup. I'm gonna beat this to death. Anyone have an opinion on the pogo stakes? They seem cheap enough but I'd have to buy the driver. I was thinking of the cable and chain idea so you don't have the stub sticking up. I haven't got the conduit thing figured out. By the time I put a J-hook in it I feel like it was way to short to hold...

Which driver should I buy and can I just use 2" fender washers and J-hooks to build my own? I'd be using them in field edges. Hay fields and ridge fields. I'm thinking the 24" would be plenty...

18" with 1.5" washers is plenty for solid ground. Buy the pogo brand HD longliner and never look back. I use 30" with 2" washers only in very soft wet sand.

Well the rebar I use is 16" with a diamond shape welded at the bottom and never had it jacked out. So would a 16" pogo hold the same?

Yes if not better. By the yellow handled driver. I think it's the long liner. I use 18" and a 2" washer for most everything. In good ground. A 12" an 1 1/2" would work

The yellow handle is the longliner. It's under 40 bucks and worth a fair bit more.

Dry land trapping- I make mine 18"x1.5", and I'm usually wasting cable going that long. You will hurt yourself pulling them, I have to use a full size mattock to lever them out, if I can get them out.
Water trapping- 24"x2" usually gets it done. If not, I just move the anchoring spot a little a try again.

I make 90% of mine 18" w/ a 2" washer. I don't like having to pay attention to which anchor I'm grabbing or having to carry 2 different kinds. I try to be as stream lined as possible
