At the time they're dyed it does.You can dye traps by soaking them in a bucket of water filled with leaves.

Or by soaking them in a bucket of walnut hulls. Just let em soak for 4 or 5 days. Leaves,bark anything that has tannic acid in it will work.

I've done it "mountian man" style with walnut hulls before and it was okay! My time is better spent doing other productive things than going out gathering caps, leaves, hulls, etc. I would never pay $7.95 shipping on a $4 order. That's why I go to rondy's and trapping supply places!

now wallye use ur head my wife gets the walnut meats out for winter baking and i tell hear to put the hulls in a bucket and id haul em off hands dont get staind she does the work and iam doing other things and she likes me not spending money lmho

KC, I've got a walnut tree 50' from my house and I still ain't gonna do it! I chop 'em up with my zero turn mower! If my wife wants the nutmeat she can go out in the grass and pick it up!

kc,that tannic acid that dyes the traps is the same stuff that will deteriate shingles on your house from an overhanging walnut tree.
