The ones I make for my DPs are 15 inches and I use all cable. My predator traps get one 18 inches and I use 8 inches of cable then 8 inches of chain. That way I don't have the dreaded cable stub sticking out.The conduit itself is 4 inches long to long with a 45 degree angle on each end. My driver is i/2 rod with a piece of pipe for a T-handle.I leave the handle down enough to be able to weld a nut on the end of the rod to drive on.On the other end that goes into the conduit,I cut a steel 3/8 nipple on a 45 and weld it in place. The 1/2 rod is a smaller in dia than the inside dia of the conduit,so I have a small bead of weld around the end to keep the conduit centered.I've used it without, but like the snugger fit with the bead.
