I don't believe I've ever seen plans or patterns for them anywhere. For coyotes,I use solid boards as most coyotes are about the same size here. This allows me to get a uniform look in my collection. Now cats seem to be a different deal. I bought mine from Okie cable and trap, but ended up modifying them some.It seemed the head part was just a hair too wide.Vikesbull talked of using a wire/wood hybyrd.Using the wire thru the head and neck region,so I modified one of mine like that.I haven't used it yet but can see the advantage with the slimmer necks on cats.I also see that Mark June now markets one made as such.

I guess a person could trace out a pattern off NAFA website, then just make the sides out of 1x4's. Add a hinge of your chose at the nose like a riveted in fender washer or such, make a cross piece for the bottom,so it's slotted to make the adjustments, and then make an adjustable tail board.By using 1x3 or 1x4 for the sides,it would be open in the middle to allow air flow.

Haha! You kill me bigjohn. You make that sound so easy and quick! That would take me a week! ha! You oughta make a bunch of those and sell them at Troy's Shed! Bet every cat trapwer who finishes their fur would want a few.

bigjohn, I thought that the "adjustment" feature of these boards was simply for pelt removal rather than wider/narrower size? Instead of belly board.

Not at all TJM. Cats are like women, they come in all different sizes. Some have big butts, some are wide all the way down, and some need help making length. An inch on length can cost you big time(less than 36 inches).Hopefully the wire/wood hybryd will help on those cats that need help on making length.

Just something I had once read on the internet (has to true,eh?) about the use of them. I've not stretched any cats and seemed to me that changing the base would mess with the taper in the shoulder area. If the base of the cat varies and the neck doesn't so much then I can see why to adjust the base of the board.

Brian, these are the measurements for the coyote and fox split boards that I use, and NAFA DOES like them.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG6_Z5N_sF0
And as far as bobcat split boards, I just used NAFA solid board measurements and split the board down the middle to make it a split board. I think they liked it, cause my top cat last season brought $320 off them boards.
You know, I took my coyote and fox split boards to the trapboard get together last year to show them off. I had copies of the measrements for people to take and nobody was interested in them. I brought all those copies back home and used them to start fires with. But 60 and 70 dollar coyotes from this area don't come easy, specially when you gotta throw half of them away because they are ate up with the mange. NAFA liked how I put them up and NAFA liked what I put them up on, and it was on these boards.... Once you get one side measured and cut out, that is your pattern for the rest of them.
Hope this helps, cause I am convinced.
