It was about 6:00 and the good ole boys were leaving the bar to hear home to their ole ladies to eat supper. As they were standing outside the bar enjoying their final conversation, a fancy car drove by and slowed down but did not totally stop at the only stop sign in town. Of course, the city police officer saw him and quickly pulled him over.
Officer: You just ran our stop sign.
Driver: haha, I slowed down and that is all I should have to do in this small, rinky kink, town. YOU only have one stop sign.
Officer: You did not stop!
Driver: I slowed down and that is enough is this nasty little. Town. You won't give me a ticket cause I am a big, rich, famous lawyer from the big city and you will never be able to make me pay a ticket for running a stop sign in this rinky dink podunk town.
Officer: Well, I am giving you a ticket cause you did nt stop.
Driver: OK, I tell you what. I am a lawyer. If you can provide me with a legal definition of the exact difference between slowing down and stopping at a stop sign in a no good, little crappy town like this, I will gladly take your freekin ticket and pay it.
Officer: Step out, please.
The driver/lawyer stepped out and the boys outside the bar could not believe what they witnessed. The officer pulled out his club and started beating on the man like their was no tomorrow! He hit him like a drummer would hit a base drum at a huge marching band contest. Kept hitting him alll over his body from head to toe. Finally the driver/lawyer started to scream and cry and begged him to quit.
Officer: Do you want me to slow down or stop!

For a minute there it sounded like the first episode of the Andy Griffith show where Sheriff Taylor gave Danny Kay a ticket and made him serve time in a jail as money meant nothing to a Hollywood producer.....

Haha I do not remember that episode. When I was a kid we did not have a TV but I have seen a few of the reruns in the past year. That is really a pretty darn good show. But, times have changed, darn it!

Well....it may be on you tube. It was ironic because Danny Kay started the show and produced it. He played a "big, fancy city slicker" on the first show. Andy Griffith was the real deal. Honest and wasnt a part of the Hollywood reputation grinder we all grew up hearing. Old Mitch Jayne from Shannon County was there as a Darling Brother. He said that Andy treated the whole cast like family. We put an elevator in for Andy a couple years before he died. He had a place in NC not too far from the original town of Mayberry. He had 20 acres and a giant garage full of classic cars. Common as an old shoe.....Those were the days.....Sorry to jack your post...LOL

You can Jack my post any time ya want if it gonna be that good. Those were really cool shows back in the day. Austin, my 16 year old mentioned a while back that he wish there were more shows like that today instead of all the fake, reality, crap we have to choose from today. I did not get to watch TV much as a kid and did not have one in my home most of my adult life. I still watch maybe an hour or two a week which enough to know how crappy it is today. Thanks, Krank.

Most of the credits go to the writers. THink about it. No special effects or elaborate stage or stunts. Every week the same old props and stage settings. All them writers were genius. No acting cool or trying to push a political message. Look at Green Acres...LMAO.....and Beverly Hillbilies.....All them old writers got their throats cut and pitched in the weeds for the new era of sensation. Hollywood went to hell and they stayed there. I dont know the names of any new actors and nor do I care. Last good movie I saw at the movie house was JAWS and I fell asleep during Star Wars.

My brother and i are Andy Griffith fanatics. We collect everything we can find from that show. We've seen every one. Can quote most of'em by heart. We watch at least one episode a day. By the way Andy Griffith show was a spin off of Danny Kaye's. that is actually an episode of Danny Kay and was filmed for thst series, its also the 1st Andy Griffith. Andy Griffith show is also the only series thats been on TV every day since it was syndicated. Beverly Hillbillies comes close but there was a gap during a legal fight. No they dont make TV like that anymore. Sorry about hijacking.
