Actually we do Kim.The silver fox is the product of a melanistic gene in red fox.It is possible to have a silver fox anywhere that has a red fox population.Granted ,it isn't as rare where there is a higher population.Same with a cross fox or Samson fox.

Hmmmm, you learn something every day. Has anyone ever trapped one? I don't mean like in the history of Missouri...just here on trapboard? I only knew of them in Alaska and Canada, and some of the New England states.

There are ranched fox here in Missouri. Just depends on whether they have that color phase.
