So, just brainstorming... after hearing thru the grapevine and seeing it this year that the last sale is usually less, who all holds fur till the following year to take advantage of the "shortage" ? Coons in particular but other fur as well... Knowing this is a very well noted "supply/demand" issue, I wonder if it would benefit to hold fur for the early sales the following year while the supply is limited... Lets hear it fellas....

I think that would bite you back Don. If I knew when to hold and when to sell then I would go corner Wall Street.

It would be a 50/50 chance i think . How can you judge supply and demand

Just figure with trapping seasons being late fall/early winter, water critters running thru early spring.... I would just assume that if ya had some good fur to put in the early auctions while the supplies were exhausted thru the summer it might work out... IDK, just brainstorming... really curious to see what the "old timers" have to say on the subject since I'm such a greenhorn, lol

I dont have the frezer space to hold onto fur like that, if I did, it would be a different story. My buddy Ryan up Canada only sends fur for the first auction in Feb. As we seen why on the yotes top lot, big dif between $640 and $1400... never know what those Jan bobcat would bring in the Feb sale.
