coon bait from crawfish

Hello again guys, was wondering if anyone here has a good recipe for home made coon bait with a crayfish base. That being said i know that there are products on the market that i could readily buy, but there is a certain satisfaction in using something you made and having it be productive. The best example i have experienced is burnin the bass up on my custom spinnerbaits. But enoug about fishing, dont want the thread to be off topic before the first reply lol.

Try makin oil out of em. That stuff seams to work straight with Nothing in it.

Would the crawfish need to be mashed up a bit before rendering for oil?

That's how I do it. Use the oil and the goop left over. I use the goop in my dp's. And the oil for other sets.

Are you using the whole crawfish or just the tail?

I should be getting another 80lbs in the next few weeks. I'll have to set some more aside for more bait and oil.

I like it add a lil glycrin to the goop and ya gotta decent.bait. otters should like it also if ya have any around ya.

ill probly be catching what im gonna use either by seining or crawfish traps

Caught a bunch last year in drainage ditches. I usebait boxes in my traps. It keeps the bait longer and the crawfish busy instead of fighting with each other.

X2 craiglow. I use boxes as well but I use mine in little finger creeks.
