10 oz of beraver lard malted to liquid, 1 oz of skunk essence,1/2 oz of civit musk and mix them well and can let it age

skunk and long distance call seem to go together. You mean melted or malted on the lard? (I got malt)

Well....I do know how to malt things. If it has sugar and carbs to convert.....I'll just melt fat.

yote after reading your post I went out to the trap shed and made some Muskrat lard(just happen to have some fat laying around). Filled a tobacco tin and put in freezer to make lure at a later date Thanks for the tips--RESOMAN--

What kind of civit musk are you using that it can hold up to that much skunk?

I got this from fred recipe and don't ask me why cause he is dead I am going guess they were the real civit back them days I went bought synthetic civit from kaatz bros. I wouldn't put it on here if didn't work .I can tell you this it work but you have to work with the wind.But I can ask bob noonman about it he know alot about lures I don't know you guys ever herd of him or not ,he is writer for maine trapper new paper.I am going to do some new testing this year on the new long distance call that I came up with if work I will give you the new recipe for it when I m done testing it .Resoman I never try it but I can't see why not and your welcome

Just some kind of musk if you cant find civet. I think some castor would be good too. Those faint scents get carried long distance by the skunk aroma.
