I just skinned out a bunch of otter and didn't smell anything strong. However, I accidentally cut into beaver castor the other day and didn't think it smelled bad either. I must be hard of smelling...or just used to it.
I have started to really notice all the scent glands on animals. It's amazing. Behind the ears, in the hocks, on the neck...and of course the anal glands. I'm sure all of those are worth giving a shot. I may just start my own line of lures, LOL.

Kim it's like a mink gland it ain't a problem until it's too late lol. I would be real careful using otter musk. If you wanna use it I would put some out strait and put a trail camera on it to see what if any reaction you get from it. I would not add it to any other ingredients until you know a little more about it. From what little I know of it otter musk will send otter and mink running in most cases and if it has somilar effect on canines it would be a shame to waste other quality products with it if it doesn't work.
