hey guys this might be asked already and i jsut cant see it but is the a good rule of thumb to how much glyc to add to baits and lures to keep from freezing? thanks all trappingfarva

depends on what it is. some stuff is already more freeze resistant than other stuff. most commercially made lure already contains glycol or glycerine and is already freeze proof. for some lures i still add a little to keep it from drying out. for bait and urine, put in a big glob, mix well, if it is froze in the morning, add more. you can use your freezer to do this test before season. i buy the 6 oz bottles of glycerine in the pharmacy section of my grocery store for a little over 3 dollars. it usually takes half the bottle to freeze proof a pint of urine. again, it depends on the urine. use whatever it takes to achieve the desired effect.

ok thanks im gonna make up some bait to night and was just currious never thought of using the freezer thats a good easy idea just gotta hide it from the wife shell poop a house of bricks if she finds it lol
