I am going to head out tonight to try and call a bit. I am going to a place where I traped for three weeks & had no luck catching any fox, so tonight I will try with the 12 gauge. -T-

Just got back. Man, FREEZING. its a nice 6 degrees out. I did two sits. Brought the 12 gauge. First sit I let things quiet up for a couple minutes, I turned on the caller, and 30 seconds later had one ten feet behind me. I Was set up in a blown down cedar tree, and i could see it out the corner of my eye. I knew soon as i got in there that shooting to my backside was going to be a problem, ...it was. He got a sniff of me, i jumped up to shoot, but i didn't want to blow this site with a miss and didn't shoot. So i waited 10 minutes and started a new sequence. After about five minutes i saw one flash on the hill, then i could hear it crunching around in the snow, but it never did pop out for a shot. Bummer! Then i got into the truck and headed to another spot. Got in and started calling after being there for 15 minutes cuz its so crunchy that i figured i spooked everything from here, to you guys in Mizzou. But after a minute of calling had 2 come in together. They never got closer than 50 yards, and I was wanting to pepper both of them, so i let them go off, then switched up calls, and heard them barking at me from about a hundred yards or so to my left. I had a good time, got cold, had fox around, but it just wasn't my night i guess. -T-

Just bought a "Hunter's Squirrel call". Was going to use it as a cover for entering the woods, but it seemed to draw in predators. Combination chatter and distress.

My wife is the best caller I know. when she calls, I come a runnin'! You would think I would have learned by now, but like a bobcat, I ain't too smart! Wish I had the smarts of a yote and my wife could call all day and never get me! Ha!
At least I need to learn how to circle her two or three times before she traps me!!
