Getting a good slow steady rain this morning, thank God!!! The wife bought an address sign for the front yard, & last night I took my auger & drill and drilled down about a foot to put the sign up. The dirt was just dust coming out of the hole. Reminded me of brown baby powder. Hopefully the rain continues all day.

Its just a tease. We had it rain for 45 minutes last night with the sun shining and it was 2/10". Last Thursday it poured for a couple of hours and it was 6/10". Thats 8/10 for the last week with more coming tonight. We only need about a foot more.

We had a little rain .15 inch. Like krank said we could use a foot over a couple weeks.

I drove Hwy 65 this week all the way to Springfield. Lots of rolled up corn across the middle of the state.

Sprinkled here. More coming. Take it all.
I know a few people selling off cows. They say they aint playing the no grass dry pond game this year.
I got 30 acres of wheat and the price is crazy this year. Full head of grain and turning. Thought I would bale some straw. I like having a few bales for mulch and bedding.
Bees are doing so=so. Last year it rained so much it washed all the nectar out of the blossoms. This year the clover is blooming but not much nectar.
Yup, last year so garden looked like a rice paddy and my tomatoes were doing the backstroke and the creeks were too high to fish.

We got 1/10th overnight Saturday. On Sunday, it rained (sprinkled) during our family reunion picnic which is ironic. Event was dampened by rain during a drought.

Nothing but a few sprinkles here. It didn't even wet the patio. No rain in the forecasts until next Saturday, maybe?

Got just a light rain over the past couple of days. Hardly enough to settle the dust. Forecast was for heavy rain and thunderstorms but it passed us by. Finally got my riding mower repaired so no more push mower in the heat.

Figured it was a good time to clean ponds. Bust that dry crust and there is slimy black stinky mud that goes all the way to bed rock. I am talking like 6 foot in our case. Once it was pushed over the dam then it turned into concrete. 21 hours with a D-9 Cat.
