Thats all I want in a camper. Warm and dry and a single burner stove.

Since I don't have to worry about having to be at work anymore, I spent some time working on the new little camper. Ended up putting new plywood all around and bracing up the roof supports. Still have to put in the front wall. Got a crank out type window that needs some glass replaced. Figured I'd use plexi-glass for it. Once the wall/window is in, all that's left is to paint and insulate. Going to get a CO2 monitor just for peace of mind.

CO2 monitor is a good idea. I have one in my old trailer. Any room for a sink? An anteater funnel strapped to the wall leading to a hole in the floor works. Maybe have a jug of water with a plunger pump on it.

It has a sink/propane combo that isn't hooked up yet. There's a drain already installed at the factory. The LP line needs to be repaired or replaced for the 3 burner unit. There's no water tank but I have a 10 gallon metal water container with a spigot to use.

I have said it before but will say it again. Those rubber propane lines have a reaction with propane that results in a funky oil in the line which plugs up the stove. Cure is to disconnect line every year to let the gas out. Hopefully such is not your case.

I haven't gotten into the stove/sink unit yet. It's portable and can be removed easily. I think a brand new line would be best. It could be disconnected when not being used.

My mistake was leaving it hooked up all year. My trailer is all copper line but I added a buddy heater hooked up to a gas grill bottle. It was a Coleman rubber extension hose and I stupidly left it hooked up and on all year. Ruined my buddy heater and I had to completely tear it down and it was never the same.

Well, the camper is finished except for some insulation on the inside and paint on the outside. I got one of the Mr Heater big buddy propane heaters. Might be overkill, but I'd rather have the extra BTU's in case I need it. Got a 12' hose that is like new, used it last season for about three days then disconnected it.

Good deal. I give up on my trailer and decided its just a storage bin from now on. Still got my eye out for a cute little trailer. I will sleep in the guest cabin at deer camp. Went down last weekend and tarred the roof and swept it out. Also set up the new outhouse.

Started in on the stove/sink combo in the camper today. Looks like I'm gonna need a new connector line that goes from the stove to the LP source. Needs to have a female fitting on both ends. Then I could use an outside bottle just for it. Might have to re-route the line though.

Coleman sells those hose kits that are female at both ends. I think Walmart has them. I got a wierd deal going on. A friend of a friend died and I got a whole bunch of butane cannisters. I also bought a case off Walleye Joe for a song. Got on Amazon and got an adapter hose to use butane cannisters on propane appliances. Stuff burns hot like a bat out of hell. With propane so high, I will supplement with butane. I got a burner to screw on a butane for like $9 on Amazon. Its tiny. It will blow a pot of coffee to percolation in about 9 minutes. I always carried it with scout outings because nobody else drank coffee. Well lets just say nobody else brought coffee. I have had a few adult leaders approach me all nice with an empty coffee cup. Also got a water dispenser that goes on a 5 gallon carboy bottle. Charges off USB. Just push the button and here comes the water. I got one of those car jump starters that use the lithium battery. Holy cow. Jumps about five cars before it will take a recharge. I used it last year at deer camp because it has a USB port. Charged my cell and it has a light. Best $30 I ever spent as it has saved me several times when I needed a jump in the last couple years. I went around last year in the Spring and all my lawnmowers had dead batteries as well as the tractor. Zoom zoom. Today is get ready for deer camp day. Need to shoot guns to be sure. Check the 4 wheeler out. Get my gear together. I think the weather will be mild as it was 91 yesterday. I am always ready for rain and I hope it rains all deer season.

You're right about butane burning hot. I've got a single burner butane stove that puts out a flame like a rocket. I seldom use it because the small canisters don't last long. The water dispenser sounds like it's just the ticket. 5 gallons of water goes a long way at deer camp. Still need to check my rifle to make sure it's zeroed, deer season is almost here.

Well, the little camper is finished and in place at deer camp. I painted it white cause that's what I had left over from a project here at home. As soon as I pulled in to park it the Japanese beetles swarmed it. I've heard they are attracted to the color white. Got one of those wood stove fans for my big buddy heater. It came with clips to attach it to the heater. it was a simple install and seems to work just fine. I was impressed with how quiet it is. Dead silent. The weather clown is saying that overnight lows the week of deer season are supposed to be in the low 30's. If that's the case, I shouldn't have to turn the heater past the medium setting.

I bought a stove fan last year and darned if I know where it is. Camper shopping remains dismal. They want 7 grand for a teardrop you cant stand up in. Nothing on the used market. I guess I will build one for a winter project.

Campers are crazy expensive. I think I just lucked out on this little one. Still think my older one is usable. May put new tires on it, the ones on there probably don't have 100 miles on them. But they look like they are showing some dry rot.

I put brand new Goodyears on my trailer twelve years ago and they have 500 miles on them and are falling apart. I have ranted before about crazy prices. In 2000 I bought a 1985 16 ft camper with everything working for $3000. Same trailer today that is 15 years old would run you over $15000. Find some individual with a fixer upper and you can get one reasonable. Just got to find them.

Well....all that for nothing. Weather was so mild, I could have slept outside all deer season. Didnt use much gas or propane. Oh well, better to be prepared for a blizzard. I left the truck partially loaded with my cook box and heater because I may head back out after thanksgiving. I am thinking Friday night. My county is keeping season open until nov 26th
