It appears Groenwald will have pick up routes starting up again this season. No idea of the schedule yet. Their website will keep you updated. Hopefully their routes will come into MO like they had scheduled last year before they had to cancel their stops due to Covid-19. I will have a load of coon, beaver and otter pelts ready for them at their closest stop. I still have 400 coon pelts that can be owned for $1 each. Legally, one must possess a $100 fur dealers permit to buy pelts but that would only make your investment in the coon pelts $1.25. Great time for a new person to begin buying fur in MO. Right now, AR and MO are pretty well wide open to anyone who wants to get into the buying business.

Wish you all the luck on peddling them hides Marc. I don't think you deserve such a beating.... Even if I throw the beaver and coon pelts away, it'll be the best I have ever done on either species. A real beating is buying coons for 10-16 dollars each, scraping and stretching them, shipping to NAFA and getting $6-10. Watching NAFA go under was quite a joy to me!! They lost my trust years ago. Thanks for the note, Krank. I seriously thought our forum had died but am glad it is still breathing.

Was gonna use groenwald last year, but canceling the week prior was pretty crappy. FHA for me now.

I think buyers have lost trust with the auction house after the NAFA deal. Country buyers are finding and filling orders on their own, bypassing the auction houses.

Was gonna use groenwald last year, but canceling the week prior was pretty crappy. FHA for me now. Enjoyed chatting and doing business with you yesterday, Don. I noticed Groenewold has posted their pickup routes for IL, MO and a few other states and will have the rest posted fairly soon. 8fb7ed1d-25ea-4cb8-b7a1-0ea6b516a205.filesusr.com/ugd/206352_32a81b742b3240a78243734731b4adb3.pdfI will be taking my three freezers full to Quincy on Dec. 11. I don't have the time to wait til the first Licking pickup in January. Hopefully, COVID-19 will not prevent them from running their routes again this spring. Sounds like I will have room for some whole cats and foxies after Dec. 11th. Until then, I will struggle to find a place for another deer!

I am meeting Groenewold at Carthage, IL tomorrow afternoon to drop off my coon, beaver and otter pelts. Fur freezers will be empty. Yay!! He plans to sort through my coon pelts and give me $1 for the ones he wants. Rest will be pitched. Had a guy drop off 52 coons yesterday and was happy to receive $0 each. I will probably get $1 for a few of them. Dropping off 6 dozen traps at trykyslayers (Don's) on way to Columbia today. Hope you are enjoying your traplines. Looking forward to hearing some trapline stories.

Thanks for sharing. Good prices compared to what I can get in these parts for coons. I paid 3,2,1 for coons last season and will get 1.0.0 tomorrow. Beavers will bring 6,1 I have and will continue to buy whole frozen foxes for $15 if not damaged and 20-50 for whole prime undamaged cats. Not sure what to do with everything else. Maybe Groeny will have some ideas and suggestions tomorrow. Talked to Peterman and he will not take my coons for free! He is not buying any coons this year unless the market goes up. Turning people away at his shed door. His coons are larger and heavier than ours. He used to get lots of Iowa, north MO coons but not buying any. Got my truck almost loaded. Heading north in a few and plan to drop off traps and trap tags at Turkeyslayers around noon

Silver fox did you get good news from Groenwald? I thought I posted the result but did somewhere else, I guess. I had 83 frozen beavers and got 4.25 each. He took the coons and will sort through them back at his shop in IL. Last we talked, he was talking $1 for the good ones, He took my last 8 green otters. Hopefully, I will average 10. I think I posted the results and more about my buying somewhere else on this site.

Thanks Silverfox I found where you posted it. Yeah, 2020, I found it too after I lost it. Darn coon calling post. I need to try that coon calling. Sounds fun. We had a coon call when we coon hunted in IA when I was a kid. Dad said it'd make the coon look at you so you could spot it. Another hobby to add to my list of fun things to do!! Terry Groenwold said he would shoot me an offer on the coons and otters they loaded up on 11th. I'm expecting $1 and $8 but zero will work since I had to get rid of them. Bobcats and greys are coming in like crazy! These Hillbillies love to trap.

Them there mouth calls are called Squallers. The sound is upsetting to a coon and it makes them move when treed. It is that growl we have all heard when a coon is agitated. When we were kids (here we go again) I used to go down to the city park and shoot coons with my bow that came into my predator call (rabbit squeeler) Happened right at dark. We had a neighbor that BBQed them and I think the park people never missed them as they we quite destructive. Another way to call the coon was to shake the trash cans enough to make the handles on the side jingle. They got jealous as they thought they were late to dinner.
