This week I am crusing up to Epplers to pick up a bunch of gear . The main item is 2 dozen 13/4 briggers modified with paws1trip pan night latch doubel posted ,heavy duty #2 machine chain ,music wire springs , and offset . Besides this I am getting 2 dozen coners coyote proof shock springs wich I will attach to a jawbuster swivel . I do not have anything to cut that machine chain so I am just putting them on the end of the chain with the jawbuster being the last link before the stake . Any thoughts or suggestions or can I do without it and hope it holds a coyote? I am getting these traps to compensate diffrent places were the landowner mentioned the coyotes not that I am targeting them I just want to hold them if one happens by . By the way these traps are very resonabel at 98 a dozen cheaper than a 4 coiled duke in the same size oh yeah and they are center swiveled and baseplated .

Although I love my shock springs and have them on almost all of my coyote/cat traps there not needed to hold a coyote. I'd bet there are more yotes caught and held in traps with out shock springs every season than there are in traps with shock springs...

I don't use shock springs I don't even have one modification on my duke traos exept leveling the pan and pan tension. They are four coiled though. But they have no problem holding yotes.
