What would you do if you had a jar of deer meat? Would you let it taint, or go ahead n put thebenzoate to it too keep it fresh??? Decisions decisions...Would a little skunk stuff be ok to add to the mix?? Decisions decisions...

Early season bait I would keep it fresh. If you wanted it for later season I would put some taint to it and just save the skunk essence for lure at the set. I try to match my bait to what they are eating at the time. Early season I figure there is more fresh killed deer along the roads and gutpiles from hunter and then later in season I figure there will be a few carcasses to pick over so the meat will have a little taint. My theory is to match my bait to whatever the last meal was so it is fresh in its mind that that smell equals food.
I could be overthinking it too...

I bury the scraps we cut off the good meat in a jar for a few weeks. You will catch everything with it lol. And I mean everything.
