Had to make that hospital run again today. Wife had to have test and x-rays to see if she is still cancer free after losing a kidney. Good news on that front and doesn't need another check up for a year. For once everything clicked as far as traffic and doctors getting and reading test results. Even my road rage was held in check lol. Some good news for a change! Good to hear your wife is doing well. Cancer sucks.

I use the VA Hospital for all my medical and have been well pleased with them, but I know that it varies with the facility and the smaller clinics get the poorest providers. I suspect part of that is money, when my Primary Care Dr. moved into emergency work it took them over two years and at least a dozen N.P./P.A. types before they found a permanent replacement. I'm not perfectly pleased with her, all she does is referrals and any time I see her I know I'll have several referral appointments upcoming; but, the wife's P.C. Dr. is the exact same; they don't practice medicine any more they just do triage.

My old company supplied equipment to the VA. I was in charge and visited the one in KCMO every week. Had a volunteer open the door for me and call me "Colonel". Busy place. They would inform me of the monthly budget and what they had money for and what they didnt. I felt sorry for them crammed in cubicles and paper stacked high. None of them were lazy or stupid just fighting with one hand tied behind their back.

I believe the problem with VA begins at the top in DC, then trickles down from there. It's documented that veterans who get certain medication thru VA get their medical records forwarded to the FBI and ATF. When they attempt to purchase a firearm, they are flagged in the process of the form 4473 and denied. Doesn't matter the meds were prescribed by a doctor. This is done without the knowledge of the veteran until they try to make the purchase. To my understanding VA is the only agency that does this. The staff at the reception desk of VA clinics I've been to are really nice and helpful. And, except for the one time, the medical staff have been respectful. As in all State and Federal agencies, it's politics and money. The farther towards the top you go the worse it is.
