Got hail last night. Mostly marble sized with a few chunks stuck together. Tiny sprinkle of rain to go with it.

Just got a quick 1/2 of rain with wind but no hail. If it has to come a 1/2 at a time we'll take it.

It's dark here with lots of thunder, but not a lot of rain. What little bit coming down soaks right into the ground.

Every drop of water is precious. It's just a shame it has to come with thunder and lightening and wind and hail.

Second round only gave us a tenth but we'll take it. Like krank stated each drop is precious.

It has thunder and lightening and been cloudy the last few days but the rain misses our land. We have about 2/10ths in the rain gauge while people 10 miles away have two inches. I am happy though and used the cool weather to work outside. Went down to the neighbors pond Sunday morning and caught a couple 5# channel cat which made the wife happy. She likes her fried fish. Talked to old Waterwell Ray and they havent got anything since April. Everything was brown around Lebanon. He was tickled over the fact it was raining so hard he couldnt step out the door.

Our 3.5" of rain last week didn't improve conditions here much at all. It did green up the grass some. Everything is already dry and dusty. I was expecting to find some Chanterelle mushrooms and a few others but no such luck. We need about 3 whole days of a light steady rain to get things going again. Pray, or dance or something! LOL

It poured at sun up today. Drove halfway to work and then hit dry pavement. Will check the raingauge tonight. Last Thursday we got less than an inch. Nothing that will fill the ponds back up. There is something about the seasons and plant growth. An inch of water in the spring has a different effect on the grass than an inch in late summer. Spring rain gives leaves and summer rain gives seed heads.

We got 2" overnight! The past week we've had 1 ½" one day 1" another then ½' and now this 2'. We are feeling blessed! This morning I even heard the sump pump under the house kick on, first time I've heard that in a long time!

Was cool enough to run the beagles this morning. Ran them 2 hours and they were hot coming out of the brush. This time of the year the vegetation is hard on their eyes and ears.

True Dat! But I love how they smell, and most of that hair they're shedding get's stripped off and they look so sleek. I call it a weed bath.

My garden wasnt too great this year. Yesterday, a neighbor stopped by and gave me 6 giant tomatoes. Then I drove down the road and another neighbor was shucking corn under the shade tree. I asked him where the corn come from and the big time farmer down the road planted 5 acres of sweet corn and said anybody was welcome to pick all they want. I went home and got gunny sacks and picked 3 bags full. I gave a sack to my brother to take by Mom and Dads. I had some for supper. Not bad for a year of uncertainty.
