Hate to paying shipping on an empty box. I would find a walk in store that has them. Used to be a guy on here that made them to order. He was up North and I forgot his name.

I wondered about ordering some big colony traps but notice there is a law about sizes.

Pretty easy to make. $25 for the wire,$5 for the clips, and a 25 ft. roll of wire will made 10 colony traps.

Mike, the traps can be any size. Only the opening is restricted to no greater than 6 inches.

I wanted 11" opening for coon.(back when I couldn't get enough coon traps) We used to build wooden box traps that were the same design as colony traps. Prop the door open with a twig that the critter pushed as it went in. We used old barn siding and straighten old nails and made dozens of them. We had a garden tractor with a wagon and put them all over the place. We sold live cottontails to a local dog man as well as folks wanting table fare. The propped open door with corn for bait was stupid simple and worked as good as a havahart. My Dad said he didn't like wire traps because a rabbit could freeze to death in one. A lot of excitement for two families of kids out on the farm.

I'm kind of thinking the last time I was in Everharts in Clinton, they had some. Don't know what size they were really didn't pay that much attention.

There was a store in Butler that sold them And I bought one. My intentions were to copy it. John is right. You can buy wire and clips for what shipping would cost. Dad was too stubborn to buy cage clips. He wrapped tiny wire round and round and then soldered the loose ends. Some of his animal cages he made 50 years ago are still in use. When we built rabbit hutches back in the 60s, it was buyer beware on mesh. You wanted "welded before galvanizing" and there was a cheap version that was galvanized then welded. Did not last long. Today with all the Chinese Taiwanese garbage out there it is buyer beware so I would want to see the mesh before I bought a lot of it. There used to be some 1/2" x 1" 14 gauge stuff that was really nice.

Wasn't Brian. It was a dude in Iowa who posted custom traps on here years ago.
