Trying to get the pan tension set on my predator sets. On my closed jaw 4 coil laminated 650s I have loosened the pan tension screw to the point when the trap isn't set the pan just flops. However when I set the trap I still have well over 4# of tension. Any thoughts?

Dogless traps can be tricky. Is your jaw/pan contact point clean?

They aren't shiny but they are not rusted up bad either. I've dyed them already but haven't waxed them yet.

Your pan tension generally goes down after waxing. Get 'er done!

Wax 'em, scrape the excess off the contact point between the pan and jaw, and look at the three pounds you'll have left. Perfect.
