Has anyone ever had an issue with coyotes being attacked while in a trap?

Have had three coyotes attacked while in both CR and footholds. I am thinking their coyote packs attacked them. By attack I mean walking up on dead coyotes with big wounds. in the middle of large track of private property.

I've had coyotes bit up but never big wounds. Anybody have running dogs there? Sounds more like running dogs or feral dogs than other coyotes.

Had a incident a couple of years ago with a bloodhound.Had a hot travel route that produced 5 coyotes in 5 checks. The nearby(1/4 mile)neighbor had a bloodhound that had to weigh close to 100 pounds that would scrap with those coyotes in the trap every night.Never really did much damage to the coyotes but they had flat tattered that ol hounds ears. The 6th day the guy who owned the dog meet me on the road and wanted to know if I'd help him with the coyotes as they were hurting his dog. I told him what had been happening but he didn't believe his dog had been leaving his yard.Since there was snow on,it wasn't hard to read the signs. lol

Could be the dominate animal got caught, and the rest of the pack was playing catch-up for past rough treatment.

Mountain lions might be part of the equation! haha If you only knew how many cell phone pics and deer cam pics I see every week of Felis concolour you'd be amazed! I ask every one of them if they reported it to MDC and have not had a yes, yet!! did have a guy catch a spotted skunk and it was dead and I encouraged him to report it to our local agents. Not sure what they will do with the info, but they are endangered in MO!

I've had four coyotes killed in traps by mtn lions.
Had one coyote killed by a black bear. I would guess the bear was Close to 400 pounds from the size of the tracks.
