set here?
I got some duck carcasses from a friend so I could pluck the feathers last night. I did that and was taking the carcasses down to dispose of them on the property I live on. I came around the corner (in the truck) and there was a bobcat running away. I had dumped a deer carcass at this location a couple weeks ago and that cat was either leaving it or going to it. I scared it off. The carcass is in a ditch with a field road on one side with just the road being open. There's beans on the opposing side of the road from the ditch. The other side of the ditch is a field. I was thinking about setting 4 traps of different variations. Two traps on the road side of the ditch and two traps on the field side of the ditch, making the traps on opposite sides of my carcass dump site. What would you do? I caught a cat here three years ago within 50 yards of this location.

Well, I'd do just that.

Awesome. Just talked to the landowner to the east. He said he's been seeing a cat here fairly often which excites me! I'll have those traps there either tomorrow or Saturday!

I TRULY believe that if I had twenty CONFIRMED sightings of 'cats, and I mean "I saw it RIGHT HERE", that I could catch almost every one of them. That's how it works (send emails with GPS coordinates to me ASAP).

It was at the bait station. I'm just not sure HOW it got there so I'm going to set a trap in all 4 directions to have it covered. Although, if I had to guess, I'd say it came out of the woods and walked down the field road.

Set the trap exactly where the cat was when you saw it? The exit route was likly the way it came in. Most animals follow the path of least resistance...
