Here is the question! If God, Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Jay Nixon, and the best scientists hired by our conservation department all got together and prayed, hunted eggs, opened presents, shook hands, and analyzed real data and even made up crap, would they extend the season? I think I know what the bunny and the department scientists and Jay would say, but not sure about God and Santa! I can see them getting into quite a scuffle!
If the season is lengthened it better be based upon data, not cause trappers wanna trap a little longer for the fun of it! I trap from Dec. 1st til about mid Jan. and pull back. It is very easy to trap out a bobcat population! I have lots of trappers complaining cause last year they caught 20 and this year only three! Duh!! Cats are dumb asses! haha
wish we could trap out most the yotes!

So...The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs... That's gotta take a lot of faith right there.

Cats are at their best when season is over. scientific fact. extend the season to get the best out of every animal. If you over trap an are that is your own fault. Learn how to manage your fur crop better.

Itt could have been as simple as him clapping his hands and that started it all. I believe in the unseen.

That's gotta take a lot of faith right there. Same fellers that have gathered data for science are why we are chatting on computers and using cell phones and driving cars! Take it all or leave it all. Don't sort through and believe what you want. Mathematics is the language of science! Science is only magic if you don't understand it. But, it can be explained and has real life data to support it. Facts are important to me!

According to the clergy I've talked to over the years, and the scientists I share idea with, dinosaurs (I'm not sure why we keep picking on them because there was life on earth billions of years before they showed up) were here millions of years before religion and gods were invented! I'm confused. Hope this discussion is helping our wildlife populations! haha

As soon as we figure out GOD (not gods) was here before anything (because he created everything) we can figure out wheather or not anything else matters

It's always good discussion, as long as everyone behaves. Mostly. Just like Gays and Mr. Obama (shudder).
I just have a hard time understanding how someone who hunts, trap, fishes or whatever in our great outdoors, and has witnessed the sunrises and sunsets like I have, and all the little miracles of life and nature that we see every day (like a billion, billion to the Nth power of snowflakes, yet no two are alike) and can still believe that it's all meaningless. Happenstance. Science. Whatever. I just don't understand it, but then again, I'm just an ignorant Ozark Hickbilly, just one step removed from the primordial ooze, myself.

Easy really one believes in God the creator or one believes we are here because some rocks went bang LOL. I tend to believe in a creator and a thing called the bible.
yet some worry about a bobcat harvest with an extended season? The state of Missouri takes what 3,500-4,000 cats annually? Where I came from The cat harvest was around 600-800 and no season on coyotes period trap them year round. we do not get a negative impact on no cats from a longer coyote season you can let those cats go as many trappers put west do when coyote trapping.
The cat season will remain close to the same from dec 15 or so until Feb 15 or so.
The season dates here are more of a traditional thing and labeling of the species. Coyotes should not be a game animal IMO but a varmint, yet would be a hard sale to the MDC I know.

That green puss that leaks out of a possums ass may have crawled up a tree and became the monkey that sh!t some of you humans out. I am certain I wasn't. Sure wish I had a few more weeks to trap.
