Hard to see in a pic like thT. All the fat off? Thats the biggie. Looks like you got the saddles off. For the fur market theres little things you can do but for hone tanning it looks good

8 coons? Thats awesome. It took me a few years to catch my first coon. I was hell on possums, 'rats and rabbit though. The few spots i had to trap were hit hard by parvo and distemper then coonhunters got a 30day head start. . Can you guys hold fur over in Missouri? We can only hold green hides 20 days. Its harder to freeze and keep fleshed pelts, you may wanna consider waiting till a few weeks before next season? Also fur is dropping, you may get more for them green right now then put up next season? Early selling can cost money too as prices havent adjusted and buyers usually figure fur is unprime then and pay accordingly. We never sell till mid December. What traps, sets n bait/lure are you using? We caught 139 and released over 20 kits and late sows.

From the pic it looks like the head area isn't squared on the stretcher? Don't see much else wrong with it. Could do the "money cut" better. The first two I skinned out I didn't do the money cut either. Skinned em out like my dad taught me when I was a youngin. Money cut gets it square across the base of the tail.

We are able to hold fur year round here in MO, and we thank Dale Verts for that. There is some that throw them in the freezer after they been put up and dried. A good fur buyer should be able to tell if a coon is prime or not when you take them to them put up.

Oh ok thanks for the tip To my knowledge we can hold over for next season. I wasn't sure if it would be better to stay frozen or store stretched and dried. I used duke dp's and strawberry jello with mackerel.

Just noticed more posts. Yeah I need to re situate the head. The belly side has a dime sized hole. Should I stitch it with dental floss or leave it be.? And the money cut is where you gone off the legs and through between the anus and private area right?

No that's my hunting clothes. It's my man room. I have a fleshing knife and I did it over a PVC pipe.. I did just watch a YouTube video and now feel like an idiot because I didn't use the hooks.

You don't even need the tail. Or the ears! Get some board stretchers. Much easier and look better too! IMHO

whats your location? Most fur buyers will show you little tips and tricks to finish your fur. cant tell from pic but looks scraped pretty good for a first time. You need to pull it down on the stretcher more and get some length out of it. It looks to wide.
