For conbears that are going to be submerged for most of the season, is it better to dye or paint?

I dyed mine for years, but now paint them or I should say dip them in paint.I trap alot of tributaries to the Mo river and that water seems to cause more rusting for some reason.Last year I started using paint and probably wouldn't have to really do it this year.Dye always seemed to be needed redone before the end of the season,as catches wore on the dye.

I figured spray paint on a sunny day and let sit for a couple of days to air out? I hadthe same type of issue with the 220s I had submerged all season last year. The rust seemed to come at about the 4th week but didn't stop the mink and otter from going in.

No it doesn't spook off game, but the rust can stain the fur.

Yup, gonna have to do something with mine, maybe paint. Those coni's get harder to work with (setting and adjusting) when they get ate up with rust, or at least it does for me anyway.
