Going to spend 4-5 day on the river this year. Should i flesh my catch there or just skin and wrap up and put into a cooler. If i flesh at camp how should i store them .i know alot will have to do with the weather.

I go to deer camp for 10 days. I trap and take a beam and a knife and some wire stretchers. I like wood boards better but the wire travels easy. Hey, if they freeze after skinning then thats cool too.

Acooler would be fine for a few days.I'd allow the pelts to cool overnite before putting in the cooler. If you have a fleshing beam with ya,just flesh, put on a stretcher, and hang in a cool area.If flies are still out,you might have a problem there with fleshing and stretching.

Works good. Roll your knives up in an apron or towel and stuff them inside the PVC for travel.

That's pretty cool !!! I would just put the board against the base of a tree and lean against it !!! But I like the truck boards they are neat !!! If I was camping I would flesh and stretch em !!!

Here is a cute little folder. I havent shaped the nose yet. Its 4 ft long and weights 20#. It could ride in a canoe if you wanted.

Cant see picture......I used to just take just a beam and prop it up agaisnt a stump too......I used to collect deer hides at camp and bring them home. They were getting nasty after a week so I got to scraping them at camp. Much better. It gave me something to do between hunting in the morning and evening.

Nope....I hit it hard in the morning and about 9 we eat breakfast that would make you cry complete with gravy. Then we nap and clean up around camp and go back out about 330pm. Supper at 530 and asleep by 7pm. Up at 5am to drink coffee and eat cookies till 6am.
