This is on a Duke 1.75 offset. I know my welds are not as pretty as yours Jeff LOL, but I have yet had a weld fail on me (yet). I took you advise about beefing up the dog, I had a few coyotes bend the dogs plum up on my traps last year and I think this might cure the problem. Thanks for that tip.I have never seen this done, but I beefed up the end's on the base as well. I noticed after some use with these Dukes the end's will start to bend out, so I am trying this on a few of them to see how they work.A finished Duke 1.75 with base plate center swiveled, beefed up end's and dog, welded frame and pan, #3 American chain and 2 crunch proof swivels and night latched.Along with inside outside lamination.Did some work on some 1.5 Sleeper Creek's as well. Didn't care for the center swivel setup that was on it and besides it wasn't base plated. So I based plated them, put on my own center swivel, beefed up the ends, added 2 crunch proof swivels with some outside lamination. They came 4 coiled and I can see why, the main springs are weak. Don't care for how the beefer springs lift the loose jaw up so I probably wont put them back on. I will get music wire springs to put on these traps.I just wish that the Duke had the catch area with their offset like the Sleeper Creek has. Adding the lamination to these offset's gives them an extremely wide hold on the critters.

Looks good Rod... You'll like the reinforced dog. I'm slowly getting all the dogs on my predator traps beefed up. The ends look good to me. It doesn't look like the extra metal interferes with anything so I don't see any reason why it wont work for you. I agree with you on the sleepy creek center swivel setup... Good heavy trap with a piece of tin holding the chain on... What's the holes for in the pans on the 1.5's ?

What's the holes for in the pans on the 1.5's ? The previous own drilled the hole, not for sure why tho. Maybe a marking that it was his trap that couldn't of been grinned off.
