Gunsmoke, i figured i would run them without lamination or offset and see how i like em and if i need to modify them i can use square stock. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards Good looking traps... I've got a doz. #3 bridger offset's & #4 duke regular jaws Laminated with square stock and they sure do look cool...

I thought the reason for laminating was to give more surface area AND smooth out the sharp edges. Am I wrong on the sharp edges?

Lamination is to give more surface area. In my thoughts, the square stock just gives more strength to the jaws VS. round stock. But I might be wrong about that.

Flapper wheel on an angle grinder cures the sharpness.

Flapper wheel on an angle grinder cures the sharpness. I ordered a new 1.75 and that's the only thing about it that I didn't like. Lots of sharp/pointy edges. Guess I'm gonna have to get a flapper wheel.

The jaws on this one are smooth as well. It's just the other things. Like the jaw tips, the baseplate, the edges of the levers, and the 4 coil extensions. If I buy a dozen it's gonna take a while to get 'em all smoothed out.

When you let them rust reall good then dye them they will lose the sharp edges, no use wasting time trying to mess with it, just get the grease off and let em rust Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

Thanks Grumpy. I know that it would have taken a LOT of rust to make these smooth!

Rusting worked on my dukes and the bridgers i got are in about the same shape but to each his own. On my duke offset of course i filled the jaws down, but the bridger jaws are smooth so. Maybe everyone elses traps are sharper than mine. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

You're aiming for a rounded corner instead of a factory 90 degree edge. Mainly on the inside edge.

My new bridger have a factory rounded edge on both sides of the jaw. I would dare to say they are factory bevelled. The rest of the trap is sharp kinda but i trap in wet sand mostly so im not worried about it as the animals will sand them for me. And they rust alot in the sand so new, traps arent new very long on the mo river. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards
